NUMBERS 12:1-10
"Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? To his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand." (Romans 14:4 KJV)
The number of people who carelessly mock, despise and embarrass God's servants are increasing by the day. Such people just feel they could air their opinions despite who is involved. The bible exhorts us not to join them neither be partakers with them of their sin. It is a good thing for anyone to speak up but it is wise to speak up rightly. God's servants are not your servants. They have their master to give account to.
We have read in the bible, several instances where God stood up for His servants who were despised. For example, in 1 kings 13:1-4, the King at that time, Jeroboam, despised and tried to dishonour the prophet of God but the judgment from God hit him immediately. In our text, Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses and God put them in their place and someone was punished. Another example was when Michal despised her husband because she felt he danced like a common man and not like a King. She was also judged by God and she became the only barren woman in the bible.
The fact that Michal was David's wife did not change the verdict of God concerning her. Don't be too familiar with your spouse who has the oil of God on his head, to despise him. Similarly, the fact that Miriam was Moses' sister did not stop God from rebuking and punishing the guilty.
God is a good employer and will not leave those who work for Him to be mocked, despised or disgraced.
Repent of every ill-speaking against God's servants. Make up your mind to speak only when you need to and to ensure no careless words proceed from your mouth.
