And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to reprobate mind to do these things which are not convenient.
INTRODUCTION
When a believer does not seek to acquire more spiritual knowledge, the following things happen to the believer. Destruction by Satan (Hosea 4:6), unbelief sets in (Romans 1:9), baby believers always (1 Corinthians 3:2), immaturity (Hebrews 5:12), and being deceived by false prophets, teachers and churches (Ephesians 4:14)
DISCUSSION
What are some more benefits of acquiring spiritual knowledge?
You Walk In The Fear Of God: Walking in the fear of God is true, wisdom and understanding from spiritual knowledge. Wisdom is knowing a thing and doing it rightly. This is the evidence of the presence of the holy spirit that is at work in our lives (Job 28:28; Proverbs 9:10; Psalms 111:10)
It Helps You Discern Right: The gift of discernment helps you to know what God wants you to do per time. Knowing the spirit of truth and that of error become more clearer as you acquire spiritual knowledge (1 John. 4:1-6; Acts 16:16-18; 1 Corinthians 2:12-24)
Study Of The Word Of God: It helps you study the word of God. The more you study the word of God, the more the truth is unveiled to you. The word of God makes the believers wise, mature and equips for every good work (John. 8:31-32; 2 Timothy 3:17)
REVIEW QUESTION
What cleans the believer for spiritual enlightenment? (John. 17:17)
CONCLUSION
The acquisition of spiritual knowledge is very essential for every believer. This is because every true believer cannot do without being hungered for the spiritual knowledge from the word of God (Psalms 119:130)
