TEST THAT WISDOM

JAMES 3:13-17

“BE NOT WISE IN THINE OWN EYES: FEAR THE LORD, AND DEPART FROM EVIL." (PROVERBS 3:7 KJV)

Proverbs 4:7 KJV categorically states that "Wisdom is the principal thing: therefore, get wisdom" . However, our text in James 3:14-15 says "who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom." And if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish”. In other words, every wisdom a man possesses is known by its fruits and its source.

Whereas some are wise in their own eyes, others are wise by the Word of God. Your wisdom must receive its daily nutrients from the Word of God and align with God's Word to be right. Real wisdom carries a man into God's presence and not take him away. As you meditate on the word for today please take time to answer these questions:

Does your wisdom make you receive instruction? (Proverbs 1:3-7b).

Does your wisdom draw its strength from God's Word? (Psalm 19:7b).

Does your wisdom draw you closer to God? (Genesis 3:8).

May the Lord grant us His wisdom to take us through life's journey in Jesus name.

Don’t rest on your very limited understanding to live, depend on the Word of God which is adequate.
