Text: Esther 2:13-17
Memory Verse: Daniel 1:8
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's delicacies nor with the wine which he drank.
INTRODUCTION
As Christians, we should decide for what is right for us which will make our future glorious. We should make a difference despite the odd against us. Daniel chose to make a difference. Esther also made a decision to dress and appear differently from others.
DISCUSSION
What are the principles to be different?
Be Christ-Like: We must be Christ-like to make a difference, it must be our decision as followers of Christ. (1 Peter 2:20-21, 1 John 2:6)
Be Sincere: We should let our Yes be Yes and our No be No. (Romans 9:1, Matthew 5:37)
Make Self-Discipline: We must be conscious of our integrity. This requires self-discipline. A person of integrity makes a difference. (Job 1:1; 2:9; Proverbs 25:28)
Be Contented: Contentment checks greed in our lives. Greed leads us to compromise our Christian standard. So we must be contented to make a difference. (1 Timothy 6:6; Hebrews 13:5)
REVIEW QUESTION
What will lure us to follow the worldly part? (1 John 2:15-16)
CONCLUSION
God expects us as believers to make a difference in the world. We should maintain our boundaries.
