Self Development (Decision Making)

Text: Joshua 24:1-18

Memory Verse: Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and all these shall be added to you. (NKJV)

INTRODUCTION

Making decision is arriving at a conclusion either positively or negatively. It may make or mar your destiny. Self-development is a function of choice, obedience to God's Word and be committed. Every action man takes is either to obey God or the devil.

DISCUSSION

What are the positive consequences of decision making?

Positive Decision is God Based: We will be successful when we make decisions based on the Word of God. (Genesis 22:11-18, 24:41-50)

Positive Decision is Based on Truth: A right decision is one which is consistent with the principles of truth. (John 5:39, Joshua 24:15; Acts 17:11)

Knowing the Scripture: A better understanding of the scripture can influence making a positive decision. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Romans 12:2)

REVIEW QUESTIONS

What are the factors we should be careful with in making positive decisions?

CONCLUSION

Good success is rooted in obedience to the Word of God. (Joshua 1:8)

Therefore, we should be knowledgeable in the Word of God with understanding. (Hosea 4:6)
