DANIEL 6:1-24
"All UNRIGHTEOUSNESS IS SIN" (1 JOHN 5:17a KJV)
A story was told of a young woman who had a little snake as a pet. This snake grew up knowing its owner and everything seemed fine. Then one day the owner lost a close relative and had to travel for the funeral leaving the snake alone in the house. Funeral ceremony was over and owner returned home still clothed in black. As she opened the door to enter still dressed in black, the snake not realising its owner was the one dressed that way gave her a bite. As soon as it bit her she called the snake by its pet name. The snake realising what had happened, wrapped itself around her, showing affection. When those she called for help came around, they could not reach her to give her medication because the snake was wrapped around her and she died. The conclusion of this story is that woman kept and nourished the "pet" that killed her.
What is it that you are nourishing even though it is against the Word of God? Those Presidents and Princes in Babylon in Daniel 6:24 nourished so much hatred for Daniel and that was what killed them. Similarly, the hatred Haman nourished for Mordecai was what led to his death. Anger, malice, lies, jealousy, envy, covetousness, fornication, pride, idolatry, unfaithfulness, gossip, greed etc. must be identified and dealt with. There is nothing on earth that is worth going to hell for.
Do not nourish sin to maturity because that is DEATH. Let these little foxes capable of spoiling the vine go.
