TEXT: MATTHEW 25:14-30
MEMORY VERSE: " Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord" ( Matthew 25:21 KJV)
In our text today, we hear the Master congratulating, rebuking and rewarding those that have done well and the one that performed poorly. Every Christian expects to hear those ultimate words from the Lord our God on the last day which are " Well done my good and faithful servant"! This summarizes acceptance into the place of rest or not.
God has not called us to be served but to serve. The early Christians lived and served in Christ. As a matter of fact they introduced themselves as servants. For instance Romans 1:1 says "Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God". James 1:1 says "James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ..." Jude 1:1 says "Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father..." and Revelation 1:1 says "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John".
On the day of His appearance, you shall be addressed either as good and faithful servant or wicked and slothful servant. Serve the Lord with fear and humility not as a great man of God but as a servant of the Almighty God. Let those titles and offices not become a stumbling block to your faith.
ACTION POINT: Serve the Lord with fear and humility.
PRAYER POINT: Thank you Holy Spirit for daily guiding me with your words.
