GROWING IN CHRIST IS THE ONLY OPTION

2 PETER 1:1-10

"AND BESIDE THIS, GIVING ALL DILIGENCE, ADD TO YOUR FAITH VIRTUE; AND TO VIRTUE KNOWLEDGE; " (2 PETER 1:5KJV)

God loves growth. No wonder after creating the first family, He blessed them to grow. "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth...." (Genesis 1:28). Anyone who is associated with God must grow because that gives Him pleasure. When a child of God increases and is blessed, God is glorified. The reason God blesses us is so that we can move to a better level. Blessing means a better condition, forward and upward movement.

Our text in verse 3 says God has in His plans for us to walk in glory and virtue. The more our knowledge of Him increases, the more we enjoy His glory. This is why we are advised to add to our faith. Now that you are a Christian, begin to add daily to your life. Begin to grow in grace, virtue and glory. The bible says 2 Peter 1:5-8 "For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." Desire and walk towards obeying this instruction, you will be fruitful in every area of your life.

Make up your mind every day to know something new about God and His ways.
