Text: Romans 8:9-14
Memory Verse: Romans 8:14
So as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
INTRODUCTION
Most times, God leads us to our destinies and His purpose in our lives by the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit quickened our mental bodies to be bold, courageous and act according to our faith and the instruction of the Word of God we hear. (Acts 8:29-30)
DISCUSSION
How does the Holy Spirit lead us?
Prompting in the Heart: The Holy Spirit leads us by prompting in our heart to act or refuse to act in a situation. (Romans 9:1; Acts 8:29-30; 1 Samuel 24:4-5)
The Holy Spirit Quickens: The human being's flesh is spiritually dead. It takes the Holy Spirit dwelling in us to quicken us to act by faith and instruction according to the Word of God to fulfil our purposes. (John 6:63; Romans 8:10-11)
The Holy Spirit Leads us into Action: Sometimes, when we doubt the Word of God or an instruction from God to act, the Holy Spirit leads us to act. So we must always rely on the Holy Spirit and not on our knowledge. (Acts 10:19-20; Romans 8:16)
REVIEW QUESTION
Who directed Jesus Christ our example? (Luke 4:1)
CONCLUSION
God leading us cannot be successful without the Holy Spirit. God works through the Holy Spirit to direct and lead us on areas of our lives and walk with God.
