TEXT: 2 SAMUEL 6:1-12
MEMORY VERSE: " I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13 KJV)
One of the amazing things about God is how He turns an inexperienced, weak man into a confident man who speaks with authority doing exploits for Him. Several times in the bible we see men like David having received God's strength, challenged giants. Moses who out of fear gave God excuses, leading God's people out of bondage to their inheritance. Young Joseph who out of inexperience was sharing his dreams with those who hated him and yet God through dream made him the Prime Minister of Egypt. Peter also though fearful became the bold one who led the early church to turn the world "up side down" and told the religious leaders of his days in Acts 5:29 " we would rather obey God than man".
In our text today, Obededom sanctified himself and his household for the great task. No one, not even David was willing to take the ark close after what had happened to Uzzah. Obededom took in the ARK of God and began to do what he and his household could not do before. He did it So well that God began to bless him abundantly for all to see.
Have you been given a new responsibility and you are thinking of rejecting It? Do it with God. Rely on God's strength and you will be amazed at what you can do. If you put your heart to it, you can do it to God's glory.
ACTION POINT: Don't be afraid to start something you have not done before. Rely on God's guidance, strength and grace.
PRAYER POINT: Dear Lord, I thank you for opportunities and strength to do new things. I can do all things because I depend on your grace.
