BLESSED BY GOD

TEXT: GENESIS 12:1-4

MEMORY VERSE: "And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things." (GENESIS 24:1 KJV)

God had blessed Abraham and the difference is seen in our memory verse today. He was blessed in all things. Real blessing is summarized in Proverbs 10:22 "The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it". Does that mean Abraham's faith was not tried? Of course, severally tried but in each of those moments, he stayed with God, overcame and moved to the next level.

The blessing here is not just about his possessions but more than that is the blessing of peace. The peace to enjoy what God has given to him; family, material possession, relationships with neighbors and friends, protection of God from wicked men and envious ones, blessing of laughter at his old age. Having a wise son who walked in the steps of his father, knowing the wells his father had opened which the enemies closed out of envy and revisiting those wells.

God's blessing is peace to enjoy everything He has given. The way to achieve this is to stay where God wants you to be and waiting on Him.

ACTION POINT: Receive God's peace and full blessings by determining to stay with God.
