The parable of the sower not only refers to the seeds symbolizing beliefs, thoughts, imaginations, and the Word of God, and the grounds they landed on representing human hearts. It also serves as a lesson for every man and woman of God portrayed as a sower in the parable. We are all sowers on this Earth. We have a responsibility to ensure that the words or seeds we plant in our hearts and the hearts of others are beneficial, positive, and wise. We have control over our words, thoughts, and imaginations. What we sow, we will reap. What we think, we will become. What we imagine, we will attract. What we believe, we will receive. It is also a financial lesson on how to invest. If you sow on good ground, you will reap abundantly. If you sow on rocky ground, you will receive what is due in time. If you sow on barren ground, you will reap what is due, even if it's nothing. If you sow in thorny ground, you will reap pain and unfulfilled dreams.

Bible Scriptures Related to the Parable of the Sower

  • Matthew 13:3-9 (NIV): "Then he told them many things in parables, saying: 'A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still, other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them hear.'"

  • Galatians 6:7-9 (NIV): "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

  • Proverbs 11:18 (NIV): "A wicked person earns deceptive wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward."

  • 2 Corinthians 9:6 (NIV): "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously."

  • James 3:18 (NIV): "Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness."

Before you sow, before you invest, choose your soil wisely. Seek for counsel before you purchase those shares or stocks or venture into that business. God bless you!
